The Partners responsible for investing the Fund have combined institutional investing experience with over $1 billion in growth-equity, privatization and recapitalization transactions. In addition, the Partners have managed, as CEO’s and CFO’s, successful Italian Companies and built the market presence of Italian consumer goods manufacturers in the United States generating in excess of $100 million in sales.

Marco Massini
MBA, Columbia Business School (Delta Gamma Sigma Honor Society

In 1999, Mr. Massini founded Italian Quality Standard, Inc., a Management Service Company supporting Italian manufacturers in establishing their presence in the US. Since its inception, the Company has generated over $100 million of new business for clients including Colussi Group, Loacker S.p.a., Bauli S.p.a. and others. In 1997, Mr. Massini relocated to the US to manage the local business of an Italian food Company. The business was successfully sold to an American strategic partner in 1999. As a private investor, Mr. Massini successfully provided capital to a number of early stage Companies in a variety of sectors. Mr. Massini is currently an Officer and Director of the following Italian Companies: Davines North America, Inc., Molinari USA Inc., and Neo Network USA, Inc.

Steven Tarino
BA, Economics with Honors, University of Chicago

Mr. Tarino has spent the entirety of his career in private equity. In 2004, he founded Hilltop Capital Partners LLC, a firm focused on growth equity investments for businesses capitalizing on fundamental industry transformations. As a principal investor with American Industrial Partners and Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, he completed more than $1 billion in growth-equity, privatization and leveraged recapitalization transactions. Mr. Tarino is currently a Director of nQueue, Inc., a leading provider of information accountability software, PowerHouse Energy LLC, a provider of environmentally responsible on-site energy solutions, and Wahwah skin trim studios AS, a personal care products retailer and the largest spa operator in Norway.

Ivano Panetti
BA, Political Science, University of Padua Italy

In 1998, Mr. Panetti founded Netway Capital, Corp., a New York based investment firm focused on short and medium term investments through a multi-strategy approach and derivatives trading. From 1995 to 1998, he served as Director of Cello, Ltd., a Connecticut based technology company with annual revenue exceeding $50 million, where he successfully executed a reorganization plan and led the sale of the company. Mr. Panetti worked at Assicurazioni Generali S.P.A. from 1992 to 1995. As a private investor, he has provided capital to eOffice, Inc., a leading office solutions company based in London, International Assets Holding Corp., a brokerage firm of foreign and domestic securities, and MacroThink, Inc., an infrastructure and e-service company.

Nicola Pietralunga
Executive Master in Finance, L.Bocconi University

In 2005, Mr. Pietralunga joined Banca Monte Parma as Director of Corporate Banking. In the same year, he assisted in the formation of Emilia Venture, a €35 million private equity fund focused on growth investments in the north-western region of Italy. Mr. Pietralunga, as a member of the Investment Committee, was directly involved in the three acquisitions the fund has closed to date. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Pietralunga worked as the CFO for two Companies controlled by the Benetton family: Roncadin, a European leader in the frozen foods sector, and ENIA, a utility Company, leading both to successful IPOs. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Pietralunga worked as a Senior Manager at the equity capital market desk of Banca Caboto, managing seven IPO processes. Prior to 1998, Mr. Pietralunga worked in the corporate finance department of Goldman Sachs and in a corporate division of Cariparma.
